Lauren London is still dealing with the loss of her man, rapper Nipsey Hussle. The late rapper passed away in 2019. Nipsey left a huge gap in his family and community. London recently opened up to radio host Angie Martinez about how she is copping and moving forward for herself and their children.
For Lauren, it has not been easy. She admits in parts of the interview that she went to a very dark place for a while and struggled to get out of it. However, Lauren eventually found the strength and gave a lot of credit to their families for supporting her. She credits Diddy for being a huge source of light as he was working through his grief from Kim Porter’s death the year prior. London told Angie that she wanted to wear sweats to Nipsey Hussle’s funeral, but Diddy pulled her aside and said, “You’ve showed everybody what it’s like to hold a man down and love him. Now show them what it looks like when it all crumbles.”
As she reflects on her life with Nipsey, Lauren admits that their relationship was real and pure and considers him to be her true love. As a result, she admits that she is not sure she could ever get married or love again because he set the bar so high.
“I might not ever be married, but I experienced pure love with Nip. I got that; I got to see that on Earth. I don’t need to do that again. I’d like to feel enlightenment with god.” London goes on to say that she is not closing the door completely and not be surprised if another love finds her in her 50s, 60s, or 70s. However, at 37, she proclaims, “I’m good.” She goes on to state that many relationships are ego driven and unpure.
Many appreciated London’s honesty and rallied behind her as parts of the interview went viral back in July. “Anyone dealing with grief should really watch Lauren London’s interview with Angie Martinez….it was so pure and beautiful she has such a beautiful heart,” said one fan.
