Actress Vivica Fox Speaks On Whether There’s A Chance She’ll Rekindle Relationship With 50 Cent

It appears that we are in the age of celebrity couples rekindling their romances. We’ve witnessed it from Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. R&B singer Ne-yo and his on-again-off-again wife, Crystal Smith, have also appeared to rekindle their flame and look to be going strong. And after 17 years of marriage, Miguel and his wife, Nazanin Mandi, decided to call it quits. But recently, photos were shared showing both parties cozied up together while on vacation, eluding to broken pieces being repaired. So, in the spirit of reconciling, could this also be in the works for Vivica A. Fox and her former boo, 50 Cent?

The year was 2003. Having already starred in films such as Two Can Play That Game, Soul Food, Booty Call, Batman & Robin, and the major blockbuster film Independence Day, Vivica A. Fox was on top of the world. That year, the actress had another huge role starring as “Vernita Green” in the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill: Volume 1. Also, that year, the majority of the world was introduced to Hip-Hop’s newest sensation, 50 Cent. Born Curtis Jackson, the rapper blasted on to the scene with his debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, and arrested the charts with multiple smash singles.

With both of their respective successes, it’s no doubt that you would see 50 Cent or Vivica A. Fox on various red carpets or other events. But what many did not expect is that they would appear together, hand in hand.   Who would have thought that the relationship with 50 Cent and Vivica A. Fox would have started from a simple shout-out and compliment? At the 2003 BET Awards, Stevie Wonder sets the tone by announcing that he was the year’s Best New Artist (and by way of playing his song on the harmonica). First off, legendary. After a raging standing ovation from the crowd, 50 offers his thanks to those who have helped him thus far in his career. Concurrently, 50 Cent memorably thanked the actress for “wearing that dress.” The camera then shoots to a visibly flattered Vivica A. Fox.

Fox recalled the moment while speaking with Vlad TV recently and stated that from there, “his people got in touch with my people. And next thing I know, we were on the phone,” said the actress.   From there, the Cocktails With Queens host detailed her birthday experience with “Curtis,” who she says he will “always be” to her. Vivica A. Fox described 50 Cent as a “gentleman” and “very generous.” For her 39th birthday, Fox revealed that the rapper “flooded” her house with gardenia and cabalanca flowers, which are her favorite.

The public soon became privy to their relationship when Vivica A. Fox and 50 Cent stepped out at the 20th annual MTV VMAs’ red carpet in 2003. Notably, the couple stunned in coordinated outfits. But shortly after going public with their relationship, 50 Cent, and Vivica A. Fox’s relationship ended. According to the actress, going public added more pressure to their dating.

With Fox already acclimated to massive success and 50 on an atmospheric rise in the music industry, many factors began to play in their demise. But Fox states that “the main thing that killed the relationship is that we just went way too public, way too fast. However, the actress expressed that her love for 50 Cent remains. “He was the love of my life,” said Vivica A. Fox.

50 Cent caught wind of Fox’s comments and addressed them in an interview with Kris Kaylin on Charleston, SC radio station, Z93Jamz. The “In Da Club” rapper mirrored Fox’s claims that too many people were involved in their relationship and had it remained private, perhaps they would have had a chance. 50 also revealed that he had plans to propose to the actress in the interview.

Through the years, the words that have been exchanged between the previous lovers have been sort of contentious. But that very well may be considered to be water under the bridge now. However, during a recent appearance on The Real, Vivica was not all the way with the idea of rekindling her past with 50 Cent.

Vivica A. Fox now describes her past relationship with 50 as “the relationship that people will just not let people go away!” As far as where they are in their lives, Fox expressed, “he got a new woman and, I got a new man. We’re good.”   But! Vivica didn’t all the way shut down the possibility of a romantic reconciliation. “You never know. Ben [Affleck] and [Jennifer Lopez] got back together,” stated the actress. “Who knows. But I doubt it!” Check the clip out below.
