Are Nick Cannon’s Baby Mothers Sister Wives?

Nick Cannon is in the runnings to becoming America’s next top baby father. It certainly seems that every time the multi-talented celebrity lands himself in the headlines as of late, it is to announce that he is about to be a father again. But the timeline and closeness of these announcements, coupled with the fact that it’s usually with different women, has many insinuating that Nick Cannon has a “sister-wives” situation going on. Well, the Masked Singer host has clarified that despite what it looks like, his baby mamas are not sister-wives.

The term “sister-wife” is usually given to those in polygamist relationships. A man will have more than one wife, who is generally given equal benefits within the relationship. In some cases, the first wife has special privileges. In 2010, TLC began airing the reality series Sister Wives based on the lives of Kody Brown, his four wives, and their 18 children.

This pretty much cancels out Nick Cannon’s situation because he remains unmarried to none of his children’s mothers. And although he was married to Mariah Carey, the relationship was not considered a polygamist one. Nick Cannon is the father of seven children. Of course, social media has a way of assuming that things are not what they seem. As a result, users over various social media platforms have made commentary on Nick Cannon’s sowing of his seeds.  In a recent segment of his new daytime talk show, the family man revealed that he is a “work in progress.” Nick Cannon shared a portion of a live therapy session that he had on Dr. Laura Berman’s The Language of Love podcast, where he spoke about his “unconventional personal life.”

Nick Cannon got candid about feeling a sense of “heavy, heavy guilt” for not spending the amount of time he would like to with his children. According to the actor, the guilt keeps him up at night. Nick Cannon also feels for their mothers, reflecting on his deceased five-month-old and his other children. “I’m guilty that the mothers of my children yearn for more, and I can only give so much,” he shared with Berman. “I’d walk around with a backpack full of guilt.”

The actor accredits his knack for working hard in helping to make the guilt “easier to deal with.” Nick Cannon also spoke about his respective co-parenting with his children’s mothers. However, when it comes to his ex-wife Mariah Carey, he talks highly of his “great friend” and reveals that they co-parent “very, very well.”

But Nick Cannon makes it absolutely clear that the other mothers of his children are not sister-wives. “They don’t want any parts of any polygamy,” the television personality declares. But when asked if they are aware that he is being romantically involved with other women, he stated, “I think they have to. I think the world knows.” Nick Cannon admits that he’s struggled with co-parenting when it comes to his children’s mothers because of the level of “authentic love” he has for them.

Nick Cannon is not the only celebrity with tons of children with different baby mothers. Rapper Boosie Badazz is another who has eight children with six other women. At one point, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper, his children, and their mothers would be the subject of a reality show on the FUBU network. However, no new news has been revealed about the show. Recently, Boosie Badazz expressed in an interview that if he had the opportunity to do things differently, he would have had the same amount of children but with one mother.
