The Marvel Cinematic Universe houses some of the biggest stars in Hollywood. With such an expansive franchise across film and television, it’s hard to keep track of all the actors associated with the comic book series. That is unless their name is in the headlines for not-so-flattering reasons. Another MCU star joined Jonathan Majors in the hot seat, and this time it was an actor from the Black Panther films.
It’s hard to remember a time when MCU leading man Robert Downey Jr. was a problem child. The Hollywood vet hit rock bottom several times before rebounding into the massively successful film saga. Robert’s issues stemmed from drug and alcohol abuse, eventually placing him in rehab for a year. He would go on to play Iron Man for the MCU’s first three sagas.
Stepping into Marvel as its latest big bad, Jonathan Majors was off to a massive 2023. Aside from stepping into the role of Kang The Conquerer in Ant-Man and Loki, he played opposite Michael B. Jordan in Creed III. Majors seemed poised for world domination, but his light was quickly snuffed out after an ex-girlfriend accused him of domestic assault in March.
The whole thing put a damper on his meteoric rise and threatens to derail his future Marvel work if it’s proven that he is guilty.
Another new MCU star, Tenoch Huerta, may join Majors on the bench. The actor played the anti-hero Namor in Black Panther 2 and had significant shoes to fill stepping into the series following Chadwick Boseman’s death. Huerta is now being accused of sexual assault by María Elena Ríos, a saxophone player.
She also accuses him of stealthing, a form of rape that occurs when a partner lies about putting a condom on or takes it off without the other person’s knowledge. Huerta maintains his innocence.
