Mo’Nique’s personal life continues to make headlines. The married mother of four has been very open about her relationship journey with Sidney Hicks.
The childhood friends would grow up to become lovers, business partners, and parents. One key part of their relationship has been their openness about intimacy and outside partners. For a long time, it seemed like Mo’Nique was just getting love from other men, but during her recent comedy special, she shares the moment when she told her husband that she desired women as well.
A tearful Mo’Nique looked into the crowd and talked about the day she told Sidney she wanted to experiment with women. Mo has always called her husband “Daddy” and has revealed that she feels like he’s raised her. “I said, ‘Daddy, I want to be with another woman, sexually.’ And he looked at me, so beautifully and so patient and so loving, and said ‘b**** me too!'”
Mo’Nique would go on to share that she kept that desire a “fantasy” and held years of shame towards her sexual curiosity due to the way her aunt Tina was treated by the family for her sexual orientation. While Mo is now comfortable sharing this information, she did recently admit that she and Sidney closed their relationship and no longer have outside partners.
