October 2022 will go down as a month full of divorces and separations. Relationships do not seem to be lasting this month, and already we’ve been hit with three shocking divorce announcements. Many people are beginning to question the purpose of marriage after seeing so many celebrity couples spit. Faith Evans and Stevie J are the latest couple to call things off after multiple attempts.
Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict announced the end of their 14-year marriage the same day Miguel and Nazanin Mandi ended their 18-year union. Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill almost made it to year two of their marriage. It is also being reported that Black-Ish star Anthony Anderson and his estranged wife Alvina Stewart are in the final stages of their divorce, as the actor has handed over his financial documents to the court. Faith Evans has also handed over her financial documents in efforts to end her marriage with Stevie J very soon.
Faith Evans and Stevie J. have been working through their split since 2020, but it looks like the pair will be finalizing their divorce this month, adding to October’s theme of separations. Faith and Stevie were an odd pair in the beginning. The two have been friends for decades, and Stevie was the hitmaking producer behind some of the Bad Boy golden age hits. He was friends with Faith’s deceased husband, Notorious B.I.G, and the two always shared a special bond that flourished into more following his split from Joseline Hernandez.
Eventually, a spark would fly between the old friends, and they began dating. Even in the beginning, Faith noted that her reality star beau needed to do some growing up and broke things off for him to go sort through his linger relationship threads. Eventually, he did just that, and they tied the knot in 2018. Problems began to surface between the pair, and disturbing videos hit the net of them fighting in a hotel room. Stevie can be seen antagonizing Faith Evans and claiming she cheated on him. Faith laid in the bed looking annoyed and ignored him.
Stevie would later issue an apology to Faith and took full responsibility for disrespecting his wife, and asked for forgiveness. “I’ve hurt you, disrespected you, and humiliated you in front of the world,” he said in his mother’s day post. He continued to ask her forgiveness, acknowledging that he is a better man with her and how she completes him. “From this day forward, I promise to listen to your feelings and be more delicate with your heart,” he stressed. “I also promise to build you up even more & to communicate daily with you, respect you and love on you until you’re as happy as you were when we got married.”
Unfortunately, it seems like things were already beyond repair for the two, and they moved forward with their separation, which was officially filed a year ago, on November 8, 2021. Stevie is reportedly requesting spousal support from Faith since the pair did not sign a prenuptial agreement. Faith recently turned over all her financial records to the court and is requesting that his spousal support be denied. What’s more interesting – according to CelebrityNetWorth, Stevie J actually has a higher net worth than Faith Evans.
The website lists Faith Evans with a net worth of $3 Million, while Stevie J is listed at a net worth of $5 million. Stevie J has accumulated a lot of his income from producing for Mariah Carey, The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Puff Daddy. According to Evans, the couple has actually been separated since May 29, 2020, when he got her arrested following a fight in their home. While Stevie never pressed charges, it’s obvious the ordeal deeply hurt Evans.
Do you think the court will grant him spousal support?
