Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill have made their split official. The reality star and sports broadcaster seemed like they would be able to stand the test of time. They had an undeniable chemistry and wisdom coming into their union, but it seemed the smartest decision for them was to go their separate ways. Cynthia opens up about the announcement and her new quest for love.
Cynthia and Mike should have been celebrating their second anniversary on October 10th, but instead, fans were in their comments wondering why the couple had not posted each other yet. News outlets reported that the duo had filed for divorce; the latest in a long string of Tuesday divorce announcements this month. Fans were heartbroken. By 10/12, the pair released their joint statement saying, “we have decided to go our separate ways. No one is to blame, and we are grateful that we remain good friends. We will always cherish the many memories we’ve shared together as husband and wife.” Cynthia Bailey immediately hopped a flight to BravoCon, which took place over the weekend in New York. While there, she opened up to attendees about how she was currently feeling.
She told fans she was “doing” ok,” and said she was happy to be surrounded by the women from the various Housewives franchises. “I haven’t thought about it much at all, but I’m sure, you know, after this is over, I’ll have my moments, but I feel really good. Mike feels good. And I’m really happy that we were able to move forward as friends.”
Cynthia explained that the split was a long time coming for her and Mike, and as their 2nd anniversary approached, they realized it was time to call it quits. Bailey explains that since they’ve both been married before, they knew when it was time to divorce and did just that. Bailey was previously married to Peter Thomas, and Mike had two past marriages.
When the duo first got together, Cynthia told Bravo TV that she did not see herself looking for love again after Mike. She believed that she and Mike were so compatible that if it did not work out, she would just give up on love altogether. “If I can’t make it with Mike Hill, then I’m just meant to be single for the rest of my life because he just gives me a comfortability I just can’t explain,” Cynthia Bailey said in the confessional.
Now that that split is a reality, fans are curious to see if Cynthia was serious or does she still have space for love. Bailey admitted that she could not give up the fight for love completely; it is just not in her nature. Bailey says that she will probably never marry again, but she will still date and see what is out there for her. “I will always be on a quest for love. Self-love, you know, the love in my life. Love. For me, everything operates from that space of love. I’m not going to stop until I find the right one.”
