Ike and Tina Turner’s Son Ike Jr Arrested On Drug Charges, Attempts To Eat The Crack Cocaine

Ike Turner Jr. has landed in the news just weeks after his mother’s passing. It appears the son of Ike and Tina Turner was arrested last month in Texas and has yet to post his $70,000 bail. He was arrested Saturday, May 6th, and charged with crack cocaine possession and tampering with evidence.

Born Izear Luster Turner Jr. on November 5th, 1958, Ike Jr. saw firsthand his parent’s meteoric rise to success and the horrors that happened behind the scenes in their home. He would follow his parents into the music industry, working as a sound engineer at Bolic Sounds. He briefly worked for his mother as well and won a Grammy in 2007 for his contributions to music.

Ike has actually been in prison since his mother died, having been arrested 18 days before her passing. The 64-year-old was pulled over in Alvin, TX, at a traffic light after midnight due to his headlights being out. He was driving a white 2013 Ford Fusion. The officers seized 1.7 grams of crack cocaine and .7 grams of methamphetamine. It was at this time that they noticed the engineer trying to shallow the narcotics to hide them.

Police stated, “He tried to eat the drugs before the officers could seize them from him.” Ike Jr. has a woman in the vehicle with him as well. Jessica Salinas-Esquivel is also being charged with possession of a controlled substance. People Magazine ran the story and have attempted to contact Ike’s attorneys with no response.

Ike and his mother were estranged at the time of her passing. Tina reportedly had a lot of issues with her children over the years and decided to create boundaries after feeling like she had been taken advantage of. Ike Jr. was left out of his mother’s will.
