Mariah Carey has defrosted and the Christmas season is upon us. The queen of holiday spirit has begun her promo run in build up to the biggest holiday of the year, one she benefits off handsomely ever December thanks to her song “All I Want For Christmas” being the most successful Christmas song of all time. Mariah goes all out every year, especially now that she’s got kids. When asked if Nick Cannon’s other children get to enjoy her holiday spirit, she had to quickly check a reported for call them “step-siblings.”
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon we’re an item briefly. After meeting in 2005, the pair wed in the Bahamas in 2008. They then welcomed their twins Monroe and Moroccan in 2011 before splitting in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016. Since then Mariah has been dating dancer Bryan Tanaka and asserting her dominance over the Christmas holiday with a series of re-releases, sequel albums, television specials and concert series.
Her reign over Christmas is so powerful, that “All I Want For Christmas” was able to top the charts in 2019 despite being over two decades old. It is also the only Christmas song to ever go number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This year, Mariah released a new Christmas song called “Fall In Love at Christmas” with Kirk Franklin and Khalid. She also partnered with McDonalds for a Christmas themed menu that is running the entire month of December. Nick Cannon has also continued to thrive since their divorce.
The television personality has enjoy several high profile stints as a TV hosts including America’s Got Talent, The Masked Singer and of course his flagship series Wild N Out. In his personal life, Nick has dated several different women and grown his family substantially. Nick is now a proud father of 7, with 3 kids being born in 2021 alone.
He shared two kids with Brittany Bell named Golden “Sagon” Cannon and Powerful Queen Cannon. Abby De La Rosa also shares twins with Cannon named Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir. Alyssa Scott is the most recent woman to come forward and confirm that she’s gotten knocked up by Cannon. They recently welcomed new baby Zen Cannon.
With such a large extended family of siblings, one would wonder if Monroe and Moroccan’s little brothers and sisters get to enjoy the massive Christmas celebrations that go on at the Carey household. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin, Mariah had to quickly check him after he called Nick Cannon’s other kids their “step-siblings.” A confused Mariah responded, “is it step? I don’t think its step. If you’re not married to the person, i don’t know about that. That’s a different interview for you.”
The dictionary defines step-siblings as “a child of your stepfather or stepmother with another person who is not your parent.” By that definition Mariah’s kids and Nick Cannon’s other kids would instead be considered half-siblings. “Half-siblings are two people who share a single parent in common.
