Porsha Williams and Dennis McKinley’s issues continue to boil over. The former lovers are now co-parenting their two-year-old daughter, Pilar Jhena McKinley. But for whatever reason, Williams and McKinley remain unhealed, as can be seen on her show Porsha’s Family Matters. In a clip that’s circulating from the reality show, the former couple engaged in a sit-down where Porsha Williams suggested her wishes for them to be “family.”
Porsha’s Family Matters, the spin-off to Real Housewives of Atlanta, has seen its share of drama for sure. It covers the lives of Porsha Williams as she maneuvers with her ex-fiancee and child’s father, along with her current fiancee, Simon Guobadia, and family. In May of 2021, the news broke that Williams was engaged after just dating Guobadia for a month. In a post on Instagram, Porsha Williams explained that her new boo-thing and her former flame were getting along great. “Simon and Dennis are committed to being respectful and supportive of my happiness in this situation, as well as being the best co-parents they can be to baby PJ,” explained the reality star. “Two black men stepping up and being amazing people-let’s praise them!!!!”
However, Williams’s tune changed when she did an exclusive interview with PEOPLE TV months later. The former Dish Nation star expressed that while they were the “perfect, ideal co-parents” before the summertime, things have become “difficult.” “Of course, when you are trying to blend a family, and now we have Simon in our household, then Dennis has his household, it can be difficult. And it has been difficult,” Williams admitted. While things got to be challenging for the two, they’ve maintained trying to keep their daughter’s best interests at the forefront. Williams also expressed her surety that things would “cool and calm down” later on but confessed how much of a “rollercoaster” ride things have been.
And rollercoaster it definitely has been, judging from the television show. Multiple altercations and fights ensued for the public’s consumption, showing just how much disfunction there is between Porsha Williams and Dennis McKinley. Things came to a head while they all journeyed to Mexico for a family retreat. Some were led to believe that Williams still had romantic feelings for her child’s father. However, it seems as though Porsha realized she could have been playing it too close. In the clip, Porsha shares that she has to “deal with what’s here now after Mexico.” From there, Williams expresses that she’s “ready to move from where I was like, ‘Okay, we’re going from romantic to family. Basically, trying to make you like a brother,” said Williams.

Seemingly shocked by what she said, McKinley repeats, “A brother?” Williams states that McKinley was not “completely honest” with her, to which he questions whether she’s being honest with herself. Williams expresses that she shares “nothing but love and compassion” for McKinley and his mother. As McKinley questions whether they were there to speak on his mother or him, Williams clarified her co-parenting intentions. “This was my original plan for co-parenting,” she said. “For me, and you, and your mother to be family still. That’s what I wanted.”
