Get a look at Cardi B! The Bronx rapper has had an impeccable 2021. She released a chart-topping single, featured on more hit records, starred in a Facebook Watch show, and had high-profile performances, all while pregnant! And now that Cardi has delivered a healthy baby boy, the new mom is stepping out and showing off her post-baby body! Cardi B’s motherhood journey began in late 2017 when she discovered she was pregnant with her first child. In July 2018, Cardi B gave birth to her first child, Kulture, with her husband Offset.
At the time, Cardi B’s debut album Invasion of Privacy was still fresh on the charts, with her singles reigning heavily on Billboard. However, due to her pregnancy, Cardi was not able to give the album the proper tour treatment. Initially, it was planned for Cardi B to join Bruno Mars on his 24K Magic World Tour. But fans would be disappointed to hear that she made the decision to pull out of the tour because she “underestimated this mommy thing,” as written on Instagram.
Cardi B wrote that she, at first, believed that it would take only around 6-weeks to “recover mentally and physically” following Kulture’s birth. “I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour,” she wrote. The rapper continued to share that she did not feel ready to separate from Kulture just yet and that it was “not healthy” to bring her newborn on the road to accompany her on tour. Ultimately, she says, she had to do what’s best for both herself and Kulture.
The world would soon see Cardi B and Kulture become like two peas in a pod. It was a beautiful visual to see the “Up” rapper fall into motherhood and raise her daughter in the world, while still navigating herself. This would only enhance in 2021 when Cardi B announced that Kulture would be getting a sibling.
Rumors of Cardi B being pregnant again began when she hopped on stage at the 2021 Grammy Awards. The fans got it right, although they would not find that out until June when Cardi confirmed it at the BET Awards. During Migos’s performance, Cardi stepped out to perform their latest collaboration, with a big belly in tow.
An appearance on Stationhead would bring the reveal that both she and Offset found out that Kulture would be a big sibling two weeks before her Grammy performance with Megan Thee Stallion. Nevertheless, she pushed through and gave her all. Following the BET Awards reveal, Cardi uploaded the beautiful photos from her maternity shoot to her Instagram, as well as a caption that described the difference in her journey this go-round.
“We listened to each other, communicated, prayed, and then God blessed us and our family with another little blessing.,” said Cardi B. “Our home feels so blissful and very busy 😩but we are ready and so happy!!
On September 4th, Cardi B’s “blissful” pregnancy journey ended and the Cephus family welcomed a son. Both Cardi B and Offset shared photos with their newborn son on their Instagrams in celebration of the healthy delivery. This also marks the 5th child for Offset, as he has three other children from previous relationships. It appears that Cardi’s recovery following the birth of her son differed from Kulture’s. While Cardi mentioned previously that she would be taking some time off to tend to Kulture, this time around, Cardi’s back outside in a major way.
It took just three weeks for Cardi to make her first public appearance, stepping out for Paris Fashion Week. Social media was quickly graced with photos of Cardi’s stunning appearance in a shimmery-red Mugler outfit, accented with feathers. In another set of photos, Cardi showed off another black, corseted Mugler outfit with a sheer gown as its base. Cardi B wasn’t done, however, as she popped up another day in an extravagant Schiaparelli ensemble that had golden breasts attached to the blazer. Accompanying the rapper is her husband, Offset, in black apparel, allowing his wife to shine.
