Jennifer Hudson is moving into a new era of her career. The newly awarded EGOT has stepped into the world of daytime television, following in the footsteps of fellow American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson. With the new show comes a lot of new energy and love, and it looks like Hudson’s rumored new boo is making it clear how proud he is of his lady.
Word hitting the streets is that Common & Jennifer Hudson are reportedly dating. The latter turned down the former’s requests a number of times but finally gave in during their time on the set of the film, ‘The Kitchen.’

Common and Jennifer Hudson could be a Chicago royal pair if they are really dating. The Illinois natives were spotted recently in Philadelphia getting cozy offset while shooting the sci-fi film Breathe. Hudson has only been publicly tied to ex-husband, WWE wrestler and actor David Otunga. Meanwhile, Common is just coming out of a relationship with Tiffany Haddish that left the Girls Trip actress in shambles.
Common has a pension for highly successful women and in the past has been linked to Serena Williams, Angela Rye, and Erykah Badu. He is all about Jennifer Hudson right now and took to social media to express his excitement for this latest milestone in her career. Hudson’s show premiered on September 12th. In a post from premiere day, Common talked about how “amazing” and “pure” Jennifer looked stepping on stage for the very first time. “Congratulations @iamjhud on the birth of The Jennifer Hudson shows. You looked amazing up there. So Pure. So True. And really, really moving. And above all, so Chicago! YES YES. Chicago moves on 4ever! Blessings!”
Fans jumped in the comments to commend Common for uplifting Hudson in such an honest way. “Thank you, Common for celebrating this beautiful Queen.” While most of the internet is not fully hip to the couple yet, one person did share a post of them hugged up together back in August while giving back at a community event in Chicago. The pair look very comfortable together as they rock matching shirts and pose for pictures with attendees.
