Ashanti and Nelly continue to rekindle their romance right before our very eyes.
The duo was spotted ringside recently at a boxing match, followed by a poolside performance of their 2008 record “Body On Me” in Vegas. While Bow Wow recently encouraged Nelly to settle down finally and marry Ashanti, it seems the R&B diva is also prepared to relax and start her family.
In 2022, Ashanti opened up to People Magazine about the many men who have tried to take her off the market. “I’m hustling and doing what I need to do now, so I can chill a little bit,” she said at the time. Ashanti admitted that she was ready to slow down and start her family, but insisted it had to be with the right man. At the time, she and Nelly were just getting reacquainted, and she said they were in a good place.
Ashanti joked that several men have tried to make her a mother in the past, but she simply was not ready. When discussing her excitement for motherhood, Ashanti said she aspired to be like her own mother and manager, Tina Douglas. While she acknowledges how great her father is, too, Ashanti says that her mother is a “different breed.”
