DaniLeigh is being known less for her music these days and more for her drama.
The R&B singer originally got her start under music legend Prince, but over the last decade, has relied on bad press to keep her name in the headlines. Her latest problem, a hit-and-run while driving under the influence. The beauty’s mug shot just went viral, as well as the story.
Danileigh seemed to enjoy her memorial day weekend a little bit too much. Danileigh was out and about in Miami Beach Tuesday morning when she reportedly hit a person on a motorized scooter.
Eyewitnesses say that the “Easy” vocalist was swerving in and out of lanes prior to hitting the innocent bystander. Danileigh then dragged the moped for over a block before police were able to stop her.
Under police custody, Danileigh failed both her field sobriety and breathalyzer tests. She was over twice the legal limit. Her IG story prior to the incident featured three posts of her seemingly getting ready for the day, sporting long brown braids and a grey two-piece outfit.
She was in the Bahamas only a few days earlier, showing off her toned body in several bikinis. “I’m outtaaa townnnn thugginn w my roundssss 🌴🌴🌴” she captioned the post.
Danileigh is known for being a bit of a hothead. In the past, she went to war online over some colorist comments, and last year was involved in some pretty heated exchanges with baby daddy Da Baby.
This resulted in her brother getting beaten up pretty badly. The single mom seemed to not get much sympathy online for her latest issues, with many flooding her post with comments after her arrest.
“Who’s here after she got booked🌚” asked one person. Another said, “Is this the day you hit that person and left them to suffer in the streets?!”
Other people gave off the “we were rooting for you” energy. “And she was doing so good. Hit and run dui 😮,” commented another. Danileigh and her team have yet to release a statement.
