Rihanna Sparks Twin Rumors After Debuting New Photo Of The ‘Gang’ Days After Pregnancy Announcement

Rihanna broke the internet with her streetwear-inspired pregnancy announcement this week. Bad Gal RiRi is finally joining Beyonce and Nicki Minaj in the mommy club and is wasting no time showing us just how cool of a mom she is going to be. The Fenty CEO did not post her own announcement pictures on her IG the day they dropped, opting instead to promote her latest line of cosmetics in a trending fashion ad reveal. Today marked the first time she actually posted her belly, and the caption got people thinking Rihanna might be expecting twins.

Sporting an oversized jersey with her signature black wavy locks, Rihanna holds her shirt up as she looks down on her growing bump. “How the gang pulled up to black history month,” she captioned the post. The following snaps in the gallery were her proper pregnancy photos with the now-signature pink puffer coat, and jewelry adorned belly.

While many jumped into the comments section to send her more well wishes and congratulations, some noted her use of the word “gang” and wondered if this meant Rihanna was expecting more than one baby. Gigi Hadid commented, “three angels 💘” which got some thinking she meant Rihanna and two babies but could just mean Rihanna, ASAP, and their unborn child.

One fan said, “Timeout…. She said the “gang” 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀 twins?” while another noted, “It’s giving twin vibes😍” While many pointed towards it possibly being twins, Rihanna has yet to confirm. ASAP has also been slow to report their pregnancy shots and has been silent on social media.

If it is twins, Rihanna will join a long line of celebrity mommas with twin babies, most of which had them in their mid to late 30s. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon welcomed their twins Monroe and Moroccan back in 2010 when she was 41. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony welcomed their twins Max and Emma in 2009 when she was 39. Beyonce and Jay-Z gave birth to twins Rumi and Sir on June 13, 2017, when Bey was 35. And actresses Julia Roberts and Rebecca Romijn also had twin babies in their late 30s.

If it seems like a coincidence, this could not be further from the truth. A lot of these women are having twins on purpose. According to The Daily Mail, “Having multiple births, especially in the late 30s and early 40s, indicates that fertility treatment may be involved, given that one in six IVF births is twins as opposed to one in 80 among the general population.”

IVF stands for In vitro fertilization and is a method used to help couples have children who may have a hard time conceiving. The technique involved them combining the sperm and egg outside of the body and then putting it back in. They often put multiple embryos into the woman’s uterus to see if one takes, which can result in twins if multiple ones become fertile.

Rihanna is only 33, just 2 years shy of the typical age range where issues would begin. Of course, this is all still speculation, but if Rihanna and ASAP are indeed expecting twins, then Hollywood better prepare for the most stylish set of siblings since Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
