Another offspring of an athlete is claiming to have a deadbeat father. Legendary NBA star Scottie Pippen has had eight children in his life. However, one of them has come forward with unfortunate claims that her relationship with Pippen is nonexistent and has always been. Scottie Pippen first became a father on December 29, 1987. Antron Pippen was born to the retired basketball player’s first wife, Karen McCollum. Sadly, Antron unexpectedly passed away in the spring of 2021 at the age of 33.
The next time Scottie Pippen became a father was in 1994 with his then-girlfriend Sonya Roby gave birth to twin girls. Taylor Pippen and Tyler Pippen arrived in July of that year, but sadly Tyler would only live to be nine days old. The following year, Scottie Pippen and then-fiancee Yvette De Leon gave birth to a daughter, Sierra Pippen. But the six-time NBA champion was far from finished. His subsequent four children, Scotty Jr., Preston, Justin, and Sophia Pippen, came from his former wife, Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa Pippen.
While Scottie Pippen has seemed to maintain a close relationship with his four children with ex-wife Larsa Pippen and his deceased firstborn, the same cannot be said for the remaining two. The Arkansas-born retired athlete reportedly denied being the father of Sierra Pippen and twin daughters Taylor and Tyler Pippen in the 90s. Finally, however, he was proven to be their fathers.
But just because Scottie Pippen was indeed their dad, it doesn’t seem that his actions showed. According to Yahoo! Life, he appeared to be absent from Sierra’s life throughout. Sadly, the same can be said for his surviving twin daughter, Taylor Pippen.
Taylor Pippen granted Spain publication, El Mundo, an interview where she admitted that she has no clue “what it’s like” when it comes to Scottie Pippen as a father. “He never wanted to meet me,” she shared. Additionally, Taylor stated that she had many questions about her father growing up. However, although she’s aware of the “weight” of the Pippen name, it has now been relegated as just a “surname” to her.
