Actress Tiffany Haddish has it all. After years of fighting for her dreams, the comedian finally found her breakthrough in 2017’s Girls Trip and quickly got to work checking off the life goals that she had on hold. Now, the 42-year-old star is ready for love and to start her own family, and she’s got a nice list of requirements for whoever her Mr. Right ends up being. For starters, he cannot be from Chicago.
Tiffany Haddish is a single woman right now and recently opened up to Seth Meyers about her requirements for her next man. For Tiff, a good credit score is a tell-tale sign that a man is responsible, which she values. She is also looking for a man with good hygiene. “[I] can’t stand bad breath and funky armpits,” she told Meyers. Haddish says that she has been attracting many men in Hip-Hop and is turned off by the fact that so many purchase expensive jewelry before purchasing any land. “I don’t mind them wearing jewelry. But if you own a bunch of diamonds but you don’t own no land, that’s a problem for me. Land, then diamonds. ‘Cause, where does the diamonds come from? The land. So own the land, then get the diamonds. I got diamonds ’cause I got land.”
Haddish was a bit more specific in another interview with NoTimeTV, where she clearly was taking shots at her ex Common. In it, Tiffany declares that all men from Chicago are cheaters and never want to settle. “If he’s from Chicago, he clearly has other [women]. Right?” While the host tried to find the bright side in dating and enlighted Haddish on the laws of attraction, the “Easter Sunday” star was clearly in petty mode and just wanted to put her former beau on front street.
It’s no secret that her breakup with Common was not a fun experience for Tiffany. The pair met during the pandemic when they were both hired by a dating app to promote its video call features. They enjoyed their test date so much that they continued to connect and eventually became an item. They solidified their status with their own sexy take on the Silhouette challenge as well as some joint interviews and red carpet appearances. According to Common, once work picked back up, the two got busy again and had to call it quits. “I think it was just like we weren’t feeding the relationship. I don’t think the love really dispersed.” He called their end a “mutual thing.”
They’ve both delivered conflicting accounts on the split, with Haddish being particularly upset with the way Common downplayed things. While appearing on Hollywood Unlocked, Tiffany Haddish told Jason Lee that Common’s public reason was not the same one he gave her privately. “I was very disappointed, and I was like, ‘Oh, OK. ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but OK.'” At the time, Haddish said that she did not think Common was capable of being with one woman and said “He might be the type of person that never really settles with somebody. Maybe he’s like, you know, like a bee going from flower to flower to flower. I don’t know. I wish him nothing but joy and happiness, you know. He will always be cool.”
Shortly after the pair split, Tiffany was arrested for a DUI that many attributed to the breakup. “I guess that Common breakup has my gurl Tiffany Haddish down bad I’m praying for healing & understanding I will NOT be participating in the celebration of a black woman’s downfall,” posted one person under a photo of her mugshot.

Well it is obvious the split hurt her, and it is very evident in the NoTimeTV interview. Elsewhere in the discussion, Tiffany joked that maybe her soul mate is an older man after one of the hosts said that all men cheat but “slow down eventually.” Haddish says she has been targeting nursing homes and senior facilities looking for love and is even open to taking care of a man if that means he’ll be loyal. “It’s something about rescuing a [man], and he just loves you. He’s going to be super loyal.”
What do you think about Tiff’s requirements?
