Wendy Williams on going health issues have her return to her purple chair looking less and less likely. In her absence, the television juggernaut has seen a handful of different people fill in to different responses from fans. It is unclear what the plans are or if any of them are being considered on a more permanent basis, but one thing is for sure, people are really starting to speculate that things must not be great for her health wise if she’s been gone this long. And now there is new reports to back that up.
According to the Ricky Smiley morning show, Williams is getting worst. The morning show reported “it’s not looking really good. Word on the street is Wendy is confided to a wheel chair. She has lost all blood circulation in her legs and her feet.”
This following reports several months ago that she’d contracted the coronavirus and was having complications. This coupled with her Graves’ Disease diagnosis, it put her out of commission for what has been the entire first half of her current season. Graves’ disease is a condition which “leads to the overproduction of thyroid hormones and can cause wide-ranging symptoms and affect overall health.” The disease has severely damaged her feet and legs, to the point where she could not even wear heels. If escalated, this could very well be the cause for the lost of blood in her legs and feet.
They also report that Wendy is showing early signs of dementia. According to the CDC, “Dementia is not a specific disease but is rather a general term for the impaired ability to remember, think, or make decisions that interferes with doing everyday activities. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia.” They go on to say that “though dementia mostly affects older adults, it is not a part of normal aging.”
Filling in for Wendy since she’s been out has been a random assortment of actors, comedians and television personalities. Leah Remini stepped in early on. The King of Queens actress filled in with best friend and Michelle Visage of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The pair seemed to have a fun chemistry, however fans did not love them co-hosting.
Remini and Visage tried to make light of it, reading fans comments at the start of each episode with mostly people trashing them being there. Worst, its been reported that Wendy did not approve of them either. Sources told Radar Online that “no one asked Wendy for her approval before hiring Leah.” They go on to say, “they will say they are protecting Wendy and don’t want to bother her as she recovers, but it’s her name that is above the front door and she should have been consulted on this.”
Following Remini, Michael Rapaport popped in between November 8th -12th. Fans jumped into the comments when he was announced to share their thoughts on him and his guests for the week which included Bill Belamy and Jerry Springer. Perez Hilton said “a lot of heterosexual men. Interesting to see how these weeks do in the ratings.” Another chimed in “We want Sherri back because she is awesome and knows how to carry a show! How you Doin?”
Sherri Shepard was a fan favorite and ratings boosts. The accomplished actress and host seemed to have an energy more akin to fans of Williams. According to Daytime Confidential “The show saw a 0.9 rating for the week ending on Nov. 7, while during its premiere week ending Oct. 24, it drew a 0.8 rating.”
Fat Joe & Remy Ma are scheduled to take over the show on November 23rd and 24th, with Leah Remini rumored to be coming back at the end of the month despite Williams disapproval. Its being reported that she did the best with producers and might be a favorite to take over, despite how well Shepard was received. Out of all the guests host, who would you prefer to see take over?
