Wendy Williams Talk Show Return Date Pushed Back Again, TV Host Facing Serious Complications

Wendy Williams fans have reason to be concerned today despite the good news that her show will be returning next week. Wendy has had everyone concerned about her health for weeks now, and it seems like things have yet to truly improve for her. While her show will make its long awaited come back next week, unfortunately it will have to happen without its namesake or her famous purple chair. The new season will be kicked off with a series of guest host.

For 12 seasons, Wendy Williams has been the go-to girl for Hot Topics. The radio legend turned daytime star has been going strong for awhile now, with many iconic moments to her name. Fans looking for more of her over the top personality and off color remarks are holding on to hope that she’s be back on the air soon. This season of Wendy’s Show has experienced several pushbacks since its initially announced September 20th return. Back then, Drake had just dropped his album Certified Lover Boy which is most known now for its cover art featuring several pregnant women of different colors. To promote her season 13 premier the team made a Wendy version of the CLB cover featuring all tea cups instead.

Initially it was just speculated that she would be missing all the promo for the new season, as it was announced that health issues were going to keep her under doctors supervision until the 20th. Unfortunately, five days before the season went live, the shows official Instagram posted another update that she would have to push the premier out to Monday October 4th due to contracting COVID.

Wendy already struggles with health issues due to her battle with Grave’s Disease. According to the Mayo Clinic “Graves’ disease is an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism). Although a number of disorders may result in hyperthyroidism, Graves’ disease is a common cause. Thyroid hormones affect many body systems, so signs and symptoms of Graves’ disease can be wide ranging.”

For Wendy, Grave’s disease has resulted in her feet swelling and bulging eyes, in addition to her being regularly fatigued. She has also been dealing with the fall out of her divorce which has taking its toll on her mentally and emotionally. Paired with COVID, fans have been really scared and wondering if they’ll see her back on screen at all. Unfortunately October 4th came and went with no new Wendy as well. Instead, a new update posted to the shows IG said the show would return October 18th instead and that Wendy had beat the virus but was still not 100%.

October 18th is coming up, but Wendy will not be there to greet fans on the shows grand return. Instead, special guests will be filling in for Williams and she is still recovering and not released from doctors supervision. The post reads “Wendy continues to be under medical supervision and meets with her medical team on a daily basis. She is making progress but is experiencing serious complications as a direct result of Graves’ Disease and her thyroid condition. It has been determined that more time is needed before she is able to return to her live hosting duties.”

Fans in the comments seem to be less concerned with her not returning, and more concerned with it maybe being time to pull the plug on her show. “cancel the show Wendy ! Stop holding on to something god clearly wants you to end get well and stay well” said one fan. “I understand the money and jobs behind this but it’s time for the show to come to a close. Wendy’s health and life is more important” said another.
